The Padres had to overcome a good performance from Milwaukee pitcher Curt Schilling to claim a 4-3 win at Jack Murphy Stadium. Schilling went 7 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Jeff Innis converted his 13th save in 15 tries. San Diego occupies last place in the United League West Division at 34-50.

San Diego designated hitter Alvin Davis helped the Padres go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Davis hit a solo home run off Milwaukee pitcher Curt Schilling.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Davis.
