San Francisco-Pittsburgh Trade Confirmed

Today at a press conference the San Francisco Giants announced a trade has been completed with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Giants have shipped 25-year-old 3B Scott Cooper to the Pirates for 29-year-old RF John Cangelosi and 24-year-old 3B Dave Hansen.
In his career Cooper has played in 143 games with a .239 batting average. Among his 98 hits are 17 doubles, 1 triple, and 10 home runs. He also has scored 46 runs, walked 33 times, has 4 stolen bases and driven in 38 runs.
During his career Cangelosi has compiled a .233 batting average and collected 737 hits, 13 home runs and 205 RBIs.

Texas Rangers Ship Osuna to Orlando

Sometimes a change of scenery can be a beneficial to a baseball player. That is the hope in Texas and Orlando as the teams came to an agreement today which sends 27-year-old LHP Al Osuna to the Sun Rays and 32-year-old LHP Paul Assenmacher and 28-year-old LHP Bill Wilkinson to the Rangers. "Only time will tell if this is the right move for everyone," stated the Orlando GM.
Assenmacher's career stats show a 4-6 record, 80 appearances, 1 save and a 4.30 ERA. He has 79 strikeouts in 106.2 innings pitched.

Texas Trades Richie for Baltimore's Portugal

The Texas Rangers have finalized a deal that will send 27-year-old LF Rob Richie to Baltimore for 30-year-old RHP Mark Portugal. Minor details still need to be worked out before the trade becomes official, but the players involved are expected to be with their new clubs soon.
His career stats show that Portugal has racked up 78 victories and 82 defeats and has recorded an ERA of 4.76.
