The Cincinnati Reds downed the Boston Red Sox, 6-3, at Fenway Park. Matt Stairs led the way, going 2-for-3 for Cincinnati. Mike Mussina, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 12-6. Todd Worrell got the save, his 9th in 13 chances.
Early in the game, Stairs had a grand slam home run for Cincinnati. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Reds on top, 4-0.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Stairs.
