Guthrie Shuts Out Minnesota
|
Today was Mark Guthrie's turn in the rotation for the Kansas City Royals and he made the most of it, shutting out the Minnesota Twins on 5 hits.
The 26-year-old left-hander led the Royals to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing 1 walk and tallying 10 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Minnesota manager Darren Fischbach said. "Guthrie certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
His record this year is 11-3 in 18 starts and Guthrie has a 3.27 ERA.
