Murphy goes 4-for-5 in Expos Win
Montreal and Washington got after it at RFK Stadium.

Behind the bravura of catcher Dale Murphy, the Montreal Expos topped the Washington Senators by the score of 7-2. Murphy went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the Expos. Their 33-58 record puts the Expos last in the United League East Division.

Montreal used the timely hitting of Mark McLemore to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Expos on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

McLemore called the win "a collective effort."
