Expos Win at Baltimore, 3-2
|
The Montreal Expos topped the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2, in United League action at Memorial Stadium. The player of the game was Montreal pitcher and Austin, Texas native Pete Schourek. Ken Howell got the save, his 8th in 10 chances. Montreal now has a 3-game win streak.
Runs were hard to come by in this one. Jeff Manto's at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth, therefore, was critical. The Montreal second baseman hit a solo home run, to put his team on top, 3-2.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Baltimore manager Sara Cole. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
