Red Sox Score Late, Upend Royals, 2-1
|
Boston rode a good effort from starter Erik Hanson to beat the Kansas City Royals at Royals Stadium. The final score was 2-1. The Red Sox have an impressive 60-37 record.
Matt Williams came through for Boston when he hit a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a first pitch fastball to left-center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Hanson said after the game.
