Kansas City Wastes Great Game by Conine
The inspired effort of Kansas City left fielder Jeff Conine was not enough to prevent a 12-11 loss to the New York Yankees. Conine went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Wes Gardner earned his 16th save in 19 chances. New York is now 41-59.

Randy Ready contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the eighth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat that helped New York get the win.

"I know we have our doubters," said Kansas City manager Daniel Drucker. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
