Cardinals Rally For Late Win Over Red Sox
St. Louis right fielder Ivan Calderon picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Boston Red Sox, 6-5. Randy Niemann picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Steve Bedrosian was tagged with the loss. St. Louis has 3 straight wins, Boston 3 straight losses.

The Cardinals got a lift from designated hitter Geronimo Berroa, who in the bottom of the ninth stroked a 1-0 fastball into center for a 2-run single. It was his 95th hit of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 6-5.

"This joint was rocking," said Berroa.
