Athletics Lose to Expos, 5-1
The Montreal Expos picked up a win at Olympic Stadium, knocking off the Oakland Athletics, 5-1. Starting pitcher Charles Nagy, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Ken Howell, credited with the save, is now 10 for 12 in save opportunities. After today's action, Montreal sits at 39-61, while Oakland falls to 51-49.

With runs few and far between, the Expos had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Montreal came in the bottom of the third inning, when shortstop Jeff Frye delivered a 2-run home run. The home run was hit off Greg Hibbard and made the score 2-0, Expos. Frye went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"I thought we played a nice game," Frye told the Montreal Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
