Kunkel slugs 2 home runs as Yankees Squeeze Past Chicago
|
The umbrellas came out during the New York-Chicago contest at Comiskey Park.
The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox, 3-2, at Comiskey Park today. Leading the charge for New York was center fielder Jeff Kunkel. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Wes Gardner got the save, his 17th in 20 chances.
Kunkel delivered in the top of the ninth inning for New York. With the game tied and the bases empty, the center fielder hit a solo home run to right.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kunkel told the New York News.
With the win, the Yankees have a record of 42-62.
