Milwaukee got a terrific performance from pitcher Curt Schilling, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore won the Milwaukee County Stadium contest, 4-2. Schilling was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 9 innings of 3-hit ball. Baltimore reliever Steve Howe picked up the win, upping his record to 8-3. Curt Schilling was saddled with the loss. Baltimore improves to 64-41 with the win. They lead their division by 7½ games.

Alan Trammell made it 4-2 in favor of Baltimore when he delivered a 2-run home run. It came with one out in the top of the tenth. The Orioles went on to win.

"We did a lot of things right," said Trammell.
