Twins Come Back Late to Clip Cardinals
|
Minnesota Twins starter Darryl Kile turned in a top-notch performance against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The result was a win for the Twins, 3-2. Rob Dibble got the save, his 14th in 20 chances. Minnesota occupies 5th place in the Federal League Central Division at 43-68.
It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Mike Diaz, the 32-year old right fielder . Diaz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Minnesota up, 3-2.
"We'll savor this win," Kile told the Minnesota News, "then get ready for the next game."
