Expos Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
The Washington Senators got a superb performance from pitcher Jamie Moyer. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Montreal. The Expos won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Moyer was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Trevor Wilson, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 4.2 innings. Washington's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The Senators had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Expos going into the bottom of the 11th inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman Eric Anthony came to the plate. Anthony hit a solo home run on a 0-2 fastball from Washington hurler Tim Burke. It was Anthony's 19th home run of the year.
"We did enough to win," said Anthony.
