Cubs Stymie Texas, Take 9-1 Win
|
Chicago Cubs starter Willie Banks was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Texas Rangers, 9-1. Chicago is now 61-50, Texas 31-83.
One significant at-bat for Chicago came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth. Cubs catcher Mike Piazza hit a grand slam, which helped Chicago go on to win.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Texas skipper Sean Norman. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
