Giants Take Nail-Biter Over Athletics
San Francisco beat Oakland at Candlestick Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Butch Henry, who earned player of the game honors. The Giants improve their record to 55-60 with the win over Oakland.

The San Francisco win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Darrin Jackson. In the bottom of the tenth, the San Francisco center fielder came to bat and hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Henry said.
