The Washington Senators beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-5 at RFK Stadium, in part due to second baseman Steve Buechele, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. At 47-67, the Senators find themselves in 5th place in the United League East Division.
Washington shortstop Walt Weiss contributed to the cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the second. For the game, Weiss went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
