Despite a fine performance by left fielder Moises Alou, the San Francisco Giants suffered a 7-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. Alou was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win was credited to Dave Shipanoff in relief. His record improves to 1-1. John Fulgham took the loss. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 62-55 with this latest triumph.

Brian Harper went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Toronto. In a tie game with two out in the top of the ninth, Harper came through with a 3-run home run. It put the Blue Jays in front, 7-4.

"Enjoyed this one," Harper told the Toronto Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
