Red Sox Win at St. Louis, 10-4
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Tatsunori Hara, the Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 10-4. Hara went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Red Sox. Boston starter Pete Harnisch was credited with the win after throwing 135 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. The first-place Red Sox have a one-game lead in their division.

One of the stars of the game was Boston left fielder Tony Gwynn. In the top of the sixth with two out, he got a curveball from Jimmy Key and hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2 in favor of the Red Sox.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Gwynn said in postgame remarks.
