Braves Top Yankees to Even Record
|
Atlanta Braves starter Randy Tomlin was in fine form against the New York Yankees at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, leading his team to a 6-1 win. Tomlin picked up the win for Atlanta, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 14-5. With the win, Atlanta goes to 61-61, while the Yankees fall to 52-70.
One of the stars of the game was Atlanta third baseman Kevin Mitchell. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, he got a fastball from John Tudor and hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 5-0 in favor of the Braves.
