The Chicago Cubs picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Kansas City Royals, 6-4. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Willie Banks, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Cubs bumped their record to 70-51 with this latest triumph.

Eric Karros contributed to the Chicago win. The 24-year old designated hitter stroked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, Karros went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Karros.
