Cardinals Topple Rangers with Late Rally
Texas got a terrific performance from pitcher Bob Kipper, but it wasn't enough to beat the St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis won the Busch Stadium contest, 6-5. Kipper was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. St. Louis has 3 straight wins, Texas 3 straight losses.

Craig Grebeck had the critical at-bat for St. Louis. With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave St. Louis the 6-5 walk-off win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Grebeck said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
