Brewers Need Extras to Top Athletics
The Brewers had to overcome a good performance from Oakland pitcher Danny Cox to claim a 4-3 win at Milwaukee County Stadium. Cox went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Milwaukee goes to 64-61, Oakland to 63-61.

Milwaukee took a 4-3 lead on Gary Disarcina's 105th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Disarcina hit in the bottom of the 11th, left Oakland pitcher Brian Holton visibly frustrated.

"There's no quit in this team," said Brewers manager JD Morris.
