Mets Lose to Senators in Walk Off
The RFK Stadium faithful were treated to an exciting walk-off win.

The New York Mets got a superb performance from pitcher Frank Castillo, but the Washington Senators still won the game, 4-2. Castillo was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Reliever Tim Burke picked up the win. His record improves to 1-5. Mike Birkbeck took the loss.

Ron Karkovice was 1-6 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Washington. In a tie game with two out in the bottom of the 14th, Karkovice came through with a 2-run home run. It put the Senators in front, 4-2.

New York manager Michael Kritikos said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

Washington occupies last place in the United League East Division at 52-72.
