Bell Helps Cubs Run Win Streak to 3
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Derek Bell, the Chicago Cubs defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-6. Bell went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Cubs. Chicago is now riding a 3-game win streak.

In the bottom of the third, Bell had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run home run off Doug Drabek that staked the Cubs to a 2-0 lead.

"We'll savor this win," Bell told the Chicago Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
