Expos Lose, 8-4, at Memorial Stadium
|
Baltimore left fielder Ron Gant played a vital role in his team's 8-4 triumph over Montreal. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Baltimore. Tim Belcher picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 11-4. Baltimore has now won 4 games in a row.
Kenny Lofton had a nice at-bat for the Orioles with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. With the bases loaded, the center fielder hit a run-scoring single, which would prove important in the Baltimore win.
In postgame comments to the Baltimore Chronicle, Gant said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
