Brewers Hold Off Pilots, 3-2
|
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win at Milwaukee County Stadium, knocking off the Seattle Pilots, 3-2. On the mound for Milwaukee was left-hander Al Leiter, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Brewers bumped their record to 65-62 with this latest triumph.
Wally Joyner delivered a big hit for the Brewers. The veteran first baseman belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. The longball put Milwaukee on top, 2-2. Overall, Joyner went 1 for 3 with a home run.
"Enjoyed this one," Joyner told the Milwaukee Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
