St. Louis Cardinals starter Miguel Batista pitched a strong game against the New York Yankees at Busch Stadium, leading the Cardinals to a 6-2 win. The Cardinals bumped their record to 77-52 with this latest triumph.

A key at-bat came in the bottom of the second inning. With a runner on 1st, the batter, John Jaha, hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 2-0, St. Louis, and helped them go on to win.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said St. Louis manager Adam Rabel.
