Expos Bridle Brewers, 3-1
|
Milwaukee County Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Montreal Expos.
The Milwaukee Brewers got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Bielecki, but the Montreal Expos still won the game, 3-1. Bielecki was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Montreal reliever Randy Bockus picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mike Bielecki shouldered the loss.
With one out in the top of the third, Todd Hundley had a game-changing hit. The Expos catcher slammed a 3-run home run off Mike Bielecki, making the score 3-1, Montreal.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Hundley, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Expos now have a record of 55-74 with the win over Milwaukee.
