Palmeiro Helps Red Sox Beat Braves
The Boston Red Sox dealt the Atlanta Braves a 8-3 loss at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. Rafael Palmeiro was the star on offense. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Boston leads the Federal League East Division by 2½ games.

One of the clutch hits for Boston came from one of their biggest talents. In the top of the seventh with two out, Barry Bonds, who led the FL in runs with 131 in 1990, hit a solo home run to put the Red Sox up, 4-2. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Palmeiro told the Boston Chronicle.
