Kansas City Tops Chicago 7-4, Claim 2-1 Series Lead

With starter Denny Neagle leading the charge, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago Cubs, 7-4, in Game 3 of the Division Series today. The left-hander threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball at Wrigley Field to help Kansas City take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

One pivotal at-bat came with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With a runner on 1st and Chicago trailing 7-4, John Habyan needed to bear down against Hiromitsu Ochiai. Habyan won the battle, as Ochiai hit into a double play and the Royals went on to win.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Chicago. Slated to start are Rick Reed for the Kansas City Royals and Scott Chiamparino for the the Chicago Cubs.
