Baltimore Win League Championship
|
Matt Nokes wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named League Championship MVP.
The star's Baltimore Orioles defeated the Seattle Pilots by a series score of 4-2 to advance to the World Series.
Baltimore won the final game by a 2-1 count in front of a raucous crowd at Memorial Stadium.
Nokes hit .381 with a .409 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 2 home runs, driving in 5 RBI and scoring 2 runs.
"Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Nokes.
The Baltimore Orioles will play against the Kansas City Royals in the next round. Kansas City won their series against the Orlando Sun Rays 4 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes.
