Royals Beat Visiting Red Sox, 8-3
|
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Wade Boggs, the Boston Red Sox suffered a 8-3 loss to the Kansas City Royals. Boggs went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Royals, now 13-7, have been playing some good baseball.
With the clubs tied 0-0 in the bottom of the fourth and runners on 1st and 3rd, shortstop Barry Larkin, who is a four-time All-Star, hit a run-scoring double.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Larkin told the Kansas City Daily News.
