Braves Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus St. Louis
|
Atlanta and St. Louis duked it out at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium and the Braves came out victorious.
The St. Louis Cardinals got a sterling performance from second baseman Craig Grebeck, but the Braves still prevailed, 7-5. Grebeck was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Atlanta, now 15-5, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Darryl Strawberry's at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning was a big one for Atlanta. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Atlanta leading 4-1, the designated hitter hit a 2-run single.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Strawberry told the Atlanta Herald.
