|
Toronto Blue Jays starter Ed Correa was in fine form against the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum, leading his team to a 5-3 win. Correa got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. Correa allowed 3 earned runs. Jeff Keener recorded the save for Toronto, his 3rd of the season.
Ellis Burks contributed to the Blue Jays cause with a productive at-bat in the top of the first inning. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run, giving Toronto the lead.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Correa.
Toronto is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 7th win in 21 games.
