Cardinals Get Road Win, 3-2
|
Spirited fans at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium greeted the Atlanta Braves for their clash with the St. Louis Cardinals.
St. Louis pitcher Bill C. Swift did his part in helping his team beat the Atlanta Braves, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Swift got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Swift allowed 2 earned runs. The save went to Steve Chitren, his 4th this season.
Contributing to the St. Louis win was Geronimo Berroa. In the top of the sixth, the 27-year old right fielder had a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, the Cardinals in front.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Swift.
Losses have been few and far between for the Braves so far this season. Their record drops to 15-6.
