White Sox Clip Rangers in Tight Contest
The Chicago White Sox got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher John Burkett, but it was good enough for the club to take a 10-4 decision over the Texas Rangers. The Rangers, now 8-17, continue their slow start.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Jeff Reed to capture the win. The catcher socked a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the White Sox ahead, 8-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Reed told the Chicago Times.
