Expos Come Back Late, Nip Blue Jays
|
Montreal overcame a superlative game from Ed Correa to beat Toronto, 3-2. The Toronto pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 2-hit ball. The Expos improved to 59-77.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Montreal right fielder Gregg Jefferies, facing Jeff Keener, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Expos the 3-2 win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Jefferies told the Montreal Herald.
