Minnesota Helpless Against Brown

Kevin Brown shut out the Minnesota Twins 4-0 on a 1-hit masterpiece for the Kansas City Royals at Metrodome today.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Kansas City skipper Daniel Drucker said afterward.

Brown registered 8 strikeouts and issued 3 walks in pitching a gem.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Minnesota manager Darren Fischbach after the defeat.

Brown has posted a 6-0 record for the year with a 2.37 ERA. Teams are hitting .183 against him and he has rung up 41 strikeouts in 49.1 innings.
