Yankees Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Boston
|
New York beat Boston on the strength of starter Jim Abbott's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 7-3 win. The Yankees improve their record to 59-80 with the win over Boston.
The Yankees got a big at-bat from shortstop Luis Sojo. For the game, Sojo was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave New York a 3-2 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Abbott told the New York News.
