Senators Stymie Montreal, Take 4-1 Win
|
It was a good time at RFK Stadium, where fans came to watch the Montreal Expos and Washington Senators get after it.
Washington Senators starter Jeff D. Robinson turned in a top-notch performance against the Montreal Expos at RFK Stadium. The result was a win for the Senators, 4-1. The Expos fall to 10-15 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Harold Baines had a big 2-run single for the Senators in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Washington leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from Paul Quantrill and stroked the single to left. It was his 12th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Senators ahead, 4-1.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Robinson.
