Rangers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Chicago, 3-2
|
The Rangers had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Eric King to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Arlington Stadium. King went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Even with the win, the Rangers have a dismal 38-103 record.
In the bottom of the ninth inning with two out, Texas third baseman Mark Lewis hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, Rangers. For the day, Lewis went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Lewis said in his postgame press conference.
