Senators Walk It Off for 58th Win of Season
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Al L. Martin, the Washington Senators defeated the Montreal Expos, 9-8. Martin was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Senators. Tim Burke picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-5. Mike Jeffcoat was tagged with the loss. At 58-82, the Senators are currently last in the United League East Division.

In the bottom of the ninth, Martin had one of his most important at-bats: a run-scoring single off Mike Jeffcoat that staked the Senators to a 9-8 lead.

"Put a star next to this win," Martin said.
