McGriff Hits 2 home runs in Red Sox Win
The Boston Red Sox beat the Texas Rangers, 11-7, at Fenway Park. Boston designated hitter Fred McGriff earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever John Wetteland picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Brian Williams took the loss. Texas, at 8-22, is off to a poor start in 1992.

An important at-bat for Boston came with two out in the bottom of the sixth. With the bases loaded, McGriff hit a grand slam, which contributed to the Red Sox win.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Texas manager Sean Norman.
