Belle Hits 2 home runs in Tigers Win
|
The Detroit Tigers topped the New York Mets by the score of 6-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Albert Belle. Belle went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Tigers on the day. The second-place Tigers lifted their record to 79-63.
Belle in the top of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and the Tigers leading 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Belle told the Detroit Times.
