The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Orlando Sun Rays, 6-5, at Orlando Citrus Bowl today. Leading the charge for Cincinnati was right fielder Bernie Williams. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Cincinnati, now 75-68, holds third place in the Federal League East Division.
Matt Stairs had a big hit for Cincinnati in the top of the ninth inning. With Cincinnati trailing 5-4, Stairs hit a 2-run home run. It was his 26th home run of the season and put the Reds up, 6-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Cincinnati manager Eric Deutsch.
