Benes Now 19-7 After Subduing Reds
|
Orlando beat Cincinnati on the strength of starter Andy Benes's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 2-0 win. Rod Beck converted his 33rd save in 36 tries. The Sun Rays bumped their record to 82-63 with this latest triumph.
Benes's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 9 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Benes, who is on pace to win 21 games this season, goes to 19-7 on the year with 189 strikeouts.
"We did just enough to win," Benes said.
