Blue Jays Come Back Late, Nip Expos
The Montreal Expos got a sterling performance from right fielder Gregg Jefferies, but the Blue Jays still prevailed, 9-8. Jefferies was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Toronto reliever Bryan Clark picked up the win, upping his record to 6-6. Dave Leiper took the loss. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 77-70 with this latest triumph.

Kevin Seitzer had a productive at-bat for the Blue Jays with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With a runner on 1st, the second baseman hit a double. The at-bat was important in the Toronto win.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Seitzer said after the game.
