Senators Turn Back Detroit, 5-3
Washington pitcher Jeff D. Robinson did his part in helping his team beat the Detroit Tigers, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Washington now sits at 59-87, while Detroit falls to 82-64.

Washington catcher Geno Petralli said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh. He did more than that -- Petralli hit a 2-run home run to stake Washington to a 3-2 lead. His 6th home run of the season came off Detroit pitcher Frank Viola.

"I really like what we did out there today," Robinson said after the game.
