Montreal Loses, 10-4, Despite Hundley Performance
The Oakland Athletics overcame a good performance by Montreal catcher Todd Hundley to knock off Montreal, 10-4, at Oakland Coliseum. Hundley hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win was Silvio Martinez's in relief. His record improves to 9-8. Pete Schourek took the loss for Montreal. The Athletics raised their record to 76-71.

Benito Santiago was 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Oakland. The two-time Gold Glove winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a 2-run double off Pete Schourek. It was his 17th double of the season.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Oakland skipper JJ Williams.
